Although I try to get my children outside every day, studying nature is much more pleasant when the weather is warmer.
The Way I Use My Nature Calendar
I plan our upcoming week on Sunday nights. Since I began homeschooling, I began this discipline as a way not to lose my mind! Seriously, homeschooling (and homemaking and home cooking… ) has a way of really stretching me. Having an idea of what the week ahead looks like is incredibly helpful. For those already enrolled in Rhythms of Home, I will hopefully finish the updated homeschool planner this week for 2024/25. It’s beautiful. I’m so happy to give it to our community. 🥰
I use the nature calendar prompts to encourage us to get outside and we use the facts to investigate more about a topic with my children. For instance, this April 23rd, we will have a full “Pink Moon”. I will take the time that day to read information about the Pink Moon to them, and we will have a conversation about it. Simple as that. 🙂 Always customize to fit your family’s needs and schedule.
